Taylor County Grand Jury returns indictments Tue 18 Apr 2017

Indictments brought against 14 individuals from Campbellsville, Liberty, Nicholasville, and Garfield, KY, on charges including possession, forgery, rape, wanton endangerment, burglary, escape, disorderly conduct, and DUI.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Taylor County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Campbellsville, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 18 April 2017:


  • Kevin Hicks (04/12/1970), Hickory Grove Rd., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00067. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense. Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 3 - Illegal possession of legend drug. Bond set at $20,000/10%, MCR@PTS, weekly report & drug test.

  • Jamia Murley (09/16/1977), Clara Ln., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00068. Charged with 3 counts. Counts 1-3 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Bond set at $300 cash, no contact with victims, no alcohol use, no illegal drug use.

  • Samantha R. Shepherd (03/19/1967), Walker Dr., Liberty, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00069-001. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense - methamphetamine. Bond set at $1,000 full cash, no violations of the law, no use of drugs or alcohol.

  • Felicia S. Dorst (07/07/1990), Trammel St., Liberty, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00069-002. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense - methamphetamine. Bond set at $2,000 full cash, no violations of the law, no use of drugs or alcohol.

  • Don Scott (07/24/1955), S. 1st St., Nicholasville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00070. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Possession controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense - meth. Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond set at $5,000 cash, no illegal drug use, no alcohol use.

  • Justin O. Wall (03/01/1994), Whitworth Lockard Ln., Garfield, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00071. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Rape, 1st degree. Bond set at $50,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness.

  • Sonya R. Lane (09/20/1975), Anna Ct., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00072-001. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (drug unspecified). Bond set at $1,500 cash, no illegal drug use.

  • Michael A. Schiesser (09/06/1988), Cedar St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00073. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense - meth. Bond set at $30,000 cash, no illegal drug use.

  • Austin D. Mings (08/29/1995), Anna Ct., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00074. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 2 - Escape, 2nd degree indentify facility. Count 3 - Assault, 4th degree - domestic violence minor injury. Count 4 - Resisting arrest. Bond set at $5,000 unsecured, MCR reporting and testing 2 times per month, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Joseph D. Smith (05/01/1989), S. Central Ave., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00075. Charged with 3 counts. Counts 1-2 - Burglary, 2nd degree. Count 3 - Persistent felony offender. Bond set at $25,000 cash, no contact with victim/premises, MCR@PTS, weekly report & drug test.

  • Wendy Clarkson (07/14/1989), Saloma Rd., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00076. Charged with 4 counts. Counts 1-2 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 3 - Possession of controlled substance, 2nd degree, drug unspecified. Count 4 - Resisting arrest. Bond set at $2,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Justin S. Highfield (04/24/1992), Hamilton St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00077. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, <2g meth. Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 3 - Possession of controlled substance, 3rd degree, drug unspecified. Count 4 - Giving officer false name or address. Bond set at $10,000 cash, no illegaul drug use, no alcohol use.

  • Brittany M. Cox (04/25/1993), Jan St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00078. Charged with 7 counts. Count 1 - Escape, 1st degree; Indentify institution. Count 2 - Fleeing/evading police, 1st degree (on foot). Count 3 - Resisting arrest. Count 4 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Count 5 - Public intoxication controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Count 6 - Disorderly conduct, 2nd degree. Count 7 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $20,000 cash, no contact with victim, no alcohol use, no illegal drug use.

  • John P. Porter, Sr. (12/19/1966), Taylor Blvd., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00079. Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Operating motor vehicle under influence alcohol/drugs/etc. .08 4th+ offense. Count 2 - Operating on suspended/revoked operators license. Count 3 - Possess open alcohol beverage container in motor vehicle. Count 4 - Failure to wear seat belts. Count 5 - Disregard/fail to yield right of way. Bond set at $1,000 cash, no alcohol use, no illegal drug use, not operate motor vehicle.
