Betty Floyd, 71,Casey Co., KY native (1945-2017)

Betty was a hard worker, loved her cats and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Over the past several years, Betty enjoyed her time living in Florida and watching Blue Bloods and In the Heat of the Night. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert & Cora Mae Richards Traylor. Her husband, Wayne Floyd, survives. She leaves five direct living descendants.

Betty Floyd of Liberty, KY passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Oxford, FL. She was 71 years of age.

Funeral Services are 9amCT/10amET, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Brother Ed Parton officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 24, 2017, 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers will be Edwin Allen, Collin Allen, Brigham Floyd, Leon Wesley, Dennis Davenport and Darrin Pratt.

Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Pratt, Larry Floyd, Billy Estes, Chubby Baird, Bobby Lee McFarland, Steve Overstreet, Philip Marple, Carl Sandusky, Dr. Miles Gibson and Dr. Thomas Baeker.

Born July 31, 1945 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert & Cora Mae Richards Traylor. She died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in Oxford, Sumter County, FL, at the age of 71 years, eight months, and 18 days.

Betty was a hard worker, loved her cats and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Over the past several years, Betty enjoyed her time living in Florida and watching Blue Bloods and In the Heat of the Night.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Wayne Floyd of Liberty, KY

  • Two sons: Bryan (Stephanie) Floyd and Scott (Jessica) Floyd, both of Liberty, KY


  • Two brothers: Joe (Joy) Traylor of Liberty, KY; and Glen (Rose) Traylor of Hustonville, KY
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society?s Casey County Relay for Life: 1504 College Way, Lexington, KY 40502 or dropped off at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
