Ernest (Wayne) Jewell, 71, Monroe, Hart Co., KY (1946-2017)

He a member of Pleasant Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Center, Metcalfe County, KY. He was a licensed welder, truck driver and logger. He was the son of Dorothy Jean Huffman Hiser, who survives, and the late H.T. Hiser. He leaves one direct living descendant.

Ernest "Wayne" Jewell, age 71 , of the Monroe Community, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Baptist Health Paducah, KY.

Funeral service will be at 2pmCT, Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Winn Funeral Home, 210 Maple Street, Horse Cave, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service. Interment will be in Whickerville Cemetery.


Pallbearers: Lanny Jewell, Barry Jewell, Timmy Jewell, Ryan Jewell, BJ Riordan II, and Buck Hiser

He was a native of Hart County. He was born February 10, 1946. He died Sunday, April 18, 2017, in Paducah, McCracken County, KY, at the age of 71 years, two months, and eight days.

He a member of Pleasant Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Center, Metcalfe County, KY. He was a licensed welder, truck driver and logger.

He is survived by:
  • His mother, Dorothy Jean Huffman Hiser of Monroe, KY

  • One daughter: Missy Jewell (Ken Trent) of Horse Cave, KY

  • Three brothers: William Jewell (Betty) of Monroe, KY; Butch Jewell (Willowdean) of Greensburg, KY; and Ira Hiser (Martha) of Monroe, KY

  • One sister, Oma Riordan (Billy) of Horse Cave, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends
