He was a native of Green County, KY, and his final resting place will be in the Grab community of Green County, KY. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. He was the son of the late James Bronston Bloyd & Naomi Lobb Higdon Bloyd

James "Jerry" Bloyd, 71, departed this life Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Signature Health Care in Horse Cave, KY.

A graveside service will be 10amCT, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in the Grab Community of Green County, KY, with burial there to follow. Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of the arrangements. Ministers will be Bro. Bobby Neal and Bro. Dwaye Forbis.


Pallbearers: Bobby Gene McCubbin, Lee Shelton, Hunter Shelton, Halle Shelton, Hayden Shelton, Channing Coates and Bobby Gene McCubbins

James (Jerry) Bloyd, Green Co., KY (1945-2017)

James "Jerry" Bloyd was born June 4, 1945 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late James Bronston Bloyd & Naomi Lobb Higdon Bloyd. He departed this life Monday, April 17, 2017, in Horse Cave, Hart County, KY, having attained the age of 75 years, eight months and 13 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by:
  • One sister: Patricia Faye Underwood of Greensburg, KY

  • One nephew: Lee Shelton and his wife Brandie of Bowling Green, KY

  • One uncle: Gene Lobb of Louisville, KY

  • Great nieces and nephews: Hunter, Halle and Hayden Shelton and Channing Coates

  • And great great nieces and nephews: Ryder Lee Shelton, Ansley and Aiden Coates.
