Taylor County Grand Jury returns indictments Tue 28 Mar 2017

Indictments brought against 21 individuals from Campbellsville, Elkhorn, Greensburg, Columbia, and Carrolton, KY on charges including forgery, trafficking, possession, theft, burglary, and sexual abuse.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Taylor County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Campbellsville, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 28 March 2017:


  • Benjamin J. Smith (02/21/1982), Mt. Carmel Church Rd., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00049-001. Charged with 8 counts. Counts 1-8 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Bond set at $2,000 USB.

  • Charles Bagby (12/18/1988), Page St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00049-002. Charged with 3 counts. Counts 1-2 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Count 3 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $2,000 cash.

  • Christina Marples (02/16/1983), W. Underwood St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00049-003. Charged with 7 counts. Counts 1-6 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Count 7 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $2,400 cash.

  • Joe Kearney (02/20/1955), Woodlawn Ave., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00049-004. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Bond set at $500 cash.

  • Jacob Caven (06/20/1989), Bales Mills Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00049-005. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Bond set at $500 cash.

  • James R. Bagby, Jr. (08/27/1979), Oak St., Cambpellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00050. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Counts 2-3 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Count 4 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Bond set at $2,500 cash, no contact with victim or Stone Quarry Rd.

  • Kyron L. Statham (01/16/1998), Ray St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00051. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (>4g cocaine) while in possession of a firearm. Count 2 - Traffic in marijuana, <8oz, 1st offense while in possession of a firearm. Count 3 - Possession of defaced firearm. Count 4 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Bond set at $1,000 unsecured, MCR reporting and testing 2x monthly, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • John Marion Mann (01/22/1979), Fifth St., Carrolton, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00052. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking, $500-$10,000. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender. Bond set at $15,000/10%, no contact with victim/premises.

  • Courtney Wright (06/12/1995), Duffy St., Campbellsville KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00053. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Promoting contraband, 1st degree. Count 2 - Controlled substance prescription no in original container, 1st offense. Bond set at $10,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no further violations of the law.

  • Joshua A. Milby (11/29/1986), S. Columbia Ave., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00054. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (2g+ methamphetamine). Bond set at $15,000 cash.

  • James Tyler Wilson (08/16/1983), Reids Chapel Rd., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00055. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd+ offense (2g+ heroin). Bond set at $25,000 full cash, no violations of the law, no use of drugs or alcohol.

  • Justin Clark (02/05/1994), Risen Ave., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00056. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (<4g cocaine). Bond set at $2,5000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no further violations of the law.

  • Joseph R. Roberts (09/06/1974), Gumm Rd., Columia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00057. Charged with 8 counts. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Count 2 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 3 - Trafficking in synthetic drugs, 1st offense. Count 4 - Operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol/drugs .08, 1st offense. Count 5 - License to be in possession. Count 6 - Operating vehicle with expired operators license. Count 7 - Failure to or improper signal. Count 8 - Failure to produce insurance card. Bond set at $1,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • David A. Stamp (09/30/1963), Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00058. Charged with 10 counts. Count 1 - Failure to comply w/sex offender registration, 1st offense. Count 2 - Operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol/drugs .08, 1st offense (aggravator-refusal). Count 3 - Failure to notify address change to department of transportation. Count 4 - Failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, 1st degree. Count 5 - Failure to produce insurance card. Count 6 - No/expired Kentucky registration receipt. Count 7 - Failure to or improper signal. Count 8 - Improper turning. Count 9 - Failure to wear seat belts. Count 10 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $15,000/10%, no use of drugs or alcohol, no further violations of the law, do not operate motor vehicle. To register as per KRS.

  • Jeremy Cheatham (12/10/1997), Bass Ridge Rd., Elkhorn, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00059. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (drug unspecified). Count 2 - Operate motor vehicle under influence alcohol/drugs .08 (aggravating circumstance). Count 3 - Possession controlled substance 3rd degree, drug unspecified. Count 4 - Controlled substance prescription not in original container, 1st offense. Bond set at $10,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Nicholas S. Galarza (07/26/1983), Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 170-CR-00060. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $5,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness/victim, no use of drugs or alcohol, no further violations of the law.

  • Treamon D. Perkins (08/16/1998), Bowman St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00061. Charged with 3 counts. Counts 1-3 - Burglary, 2nd degree. Bond set at $2,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no contact with complaining witness, no further violations of the law.

  • Brian Caven (12/28/1987), Bales Mill Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00062. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession of firearm by convicted felon. Bond set at $1,500 full cash, no possession of firearms.

  • Lucas Parsons (09/03/1989), Callison Ln, Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00063-001. Charged with 6 counts. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (heroin). Count 2 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Count 3 - Fleeing/evading police, 2nd degree (motor vehicle). Count 4 - Operating motor vehicle under influence alcohol/drugs .08 aggravator, 2nd offense. Count 5 - Operating on suspended or revoked operators license. Count 6 - Failure to notify address change to department of transportation. Bond set at $25,000 cash.

  • Joseph Seadler (07/19/1983), Howell St., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00063-002. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Convicted felon in possession of handgun. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender. Bond set at $7,500 cash.

  • Lucas Parsons (09/03/1989), Callison Ln., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00064. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Convicted felon in possession of a handgun. Bond set at $5,000 cash.

  • David M. Cox (05/05/1983), Anna Ct., Campbellsville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00065. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Sexual abuse, 1st degree, victim under 12 years of age. Count 2 - Sexual abuse, 1st degree, victim under 12 years of age. Bond set at $25,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness.
