Thurlo Tucker, 90, Russell Springs, KY (1926-2017)

He was a heavy equipment operator for KY State Hwy Department. He was a veteran of US Army and a Deacon at Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church. He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late T.O. & Sophie Jane Tarter Tucker. His wife, Audrey Hart Tucker, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants.

Thurlo Tucker, 90, of Russell Springs, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

Funeral service for Thurlo Tucker will be at 1pmCT, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis & Bro. Donald Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday and after 8amCT, on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Sunshine with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Brent Tarter, Marvin Johnson, Drew McGowan, Lemmie McGowan, Tucker Stofer, Arvin Wilson

He was born May 7, 1926 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late T.O. & Sophie Jane Tarter Tucker. He died Saturday, March 25, 2017, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 18 days.

He was a heavy equipment operator for KY State Hwy Department. He was a veteran of US Army and a Deacon at Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey McGowan; and a brother, C.V. Tucker. Survivors are:
  • His wife: Audrey Hart Tucker, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two daughters: Yvonne Kay (Pete) Gibson, Versailles, KY; and Connie Tucker, wife of Ric Stofer, Lexington, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Morgan Daulton, Lexington, KY; Anne Gibson, Knoxville, TN; Tucker Stofer, Lexington, KY
