Gladys Mae Wilson, 85, Casey Co., KY (1931-2017)

Mrs. Wilson was a housewife and a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She loved to garden, quilting, and her flowers. She was the daughter of the late Taylor Wilhelm & Della Marie Chilton Wilhelm, and the widow of Estil Lee Wilson. She leaves 14 direct living descendants.

Gladys Mae Wilson, of Liberty, KY passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at the UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was 85.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT/11amET, Thursday, March 23, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-7pmCT/6pm-8pmET, Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Wilson, Jerry Overstreet, David Collins, Bruce Richardson, Chad Meece, Hunter Richardson, Austin Richardson, and Evan Collins.

Born September 4, 1931, in Casey Co., KY, she was a daughter of the late David Taylor Wilhelm & Della Marie Chilton Wilhelm. She died Monday, March 20, 2017, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 85 years, six months, and 16 days.

Mrs. Wilson was a housewife and a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She loved to garden, quilting, and her flowers.

Survivors include:
  • her son: Bobby Joe Wilson (and girlfriend, Phyllis Davenport) of Stanford, KY

  • Her daughter: Carolyn (and husband, Jerry) Overstreet of Liberty, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Six great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband whom she wed on January 9, 1951, Estil Lee Wilson; her parents; and two brothers, Raymond and Bobby Wilhelm.
