Human trafficking to be subject of CU chapel 29 March 2017 By Joan C. McKinney, Office of University Communications CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville University professor of social work Dr. Candace Hansford will discuss human trafficking at the university's chapel at 10amET Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky. Hansford has been employed at Campbellsville University since 2008 and also between 2004 through 2007. She has her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University where her dissertation title was: "A Structural Equation Model of Maternal Post-TANF Employment: An Analysis of Economic Deprivation and Hardship, Maternal Well-Being and Parental Strain." She received her master in social work from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1997 with a dual concentration in families, groups and individuals and program development and directing/administration. Hansford received her bachelor of arts degree in 1994 from Cumberland College. Her primary interests include human trafficking, international social work, poverty and Appalachian and rural issues. She has received several Writing, Engagement and Learning (WEL) Grants from Campbellsville University including a faculty-led study abroad $5,000 grant to incorporate service learning and international experience in Tanzania, East Africa in the social work program. She has also taught at Western Kentucky University, Wilmington College, The Ohio State University, Chatfield College and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has worked in social work capacities in Cincinnati and Hillsboro, Ohio; Nashville, Tenn. and Louisville, Ky. She has given several presentations and written journal articles. She is married to Jon Hansford and is the mother of Hannah, Hope and Griffin Hansford. Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations. All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10 and digital channel 23.0) and are streamed live on the internet at wlcutv.com.
