Mayor Curtis Hardwick sends message By City of Columbia Mayor Curtis D. Hardwick It has been brought to my attention that several people are under the impression that I stole money from the gas customers. I want to clarify that I personally did not and I am not being accused of stealing money. The City of Columbia is accused of overcharging and the gas customers and violating a City Ordinance. As Mayor, I am responsible and I have taken responsibility for the error. I personally did not benefit from the mistake I made. As soon as we were made aware of the error we took immediate action to correct it.
