She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Luther & Mittie Young Ashbrook and the widow of Edwin Hainey. She leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Maxine Hainey, 94. a resident of Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Jamestown, KY, died Friday, March 10, 2017.

Funeral service for Maxine Hainey will be 2pmCT/3pmET, Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Larold Gosser officiating. Visitation after 12pmCT/1pmET, Sunday. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery on Gosser Ridge. Pallbearers: Kevin Jones, Scott Hainey, Doug Hainey Jimmy Hare, David Gosser, and Jerry Stogill.

She was born February 20, 1923, in Pulaski County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Luther & Mittie Young Ashbrook. She died Friday, March 10, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 94 years, 11 months, and 18 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Hainey; two sons. Larry Hainey, Joseph Hainey; three brothers, Johnny, Edward, and Doyle Ashbrook; and one sister, Ruth Gosser.

Survivors:
  • One son: Harry (Sandy) Hainey, Nancy, KY

  • Two daughters-in-law: Mary Ann Hainey, Greenwood, IN; and Diane Hainey, Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Doris Roy, Whiteland, IN

  • One sister-in-law: Christine Ashbrook, Somerset, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Scott, Shelby, Angela, Doug, Donella

  • Five great grandchildren
