The Columbia City Council convened, gave the pledge of allegiance, and approved the minutes of the February 7, 2017 minutes, subject to City Clerk Rhonda Loy reviewing the recording of the meeting to clarify a statement by Councilman Ronald Rogers. The vote was unanimous.

Mayor Curtis Hardwick presided. The minutes were the only item posted on the agenda, and was the only item which could be discussed, as the meeting was a special called one.

A large number of people were in the gallery, with somewhat more there in support of Mayor Curtis Hardwick than with those not.

The meeting was adjourned in what may have been a record short session, and almost certainly a record session for an unrushed session when a subsequent sports game did not follow.

All Council Members were present: Craig Dean, Linda Waggener, Craig Lasley, Dr. Ronald P. Rogers, Pam Hoots, and Mark D. Harris, as well as the Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney Marshall Loy, City Police Chief Jason Cross and Jr. Murphy, and media representatives.

Despite the impending litigation, the meeting was cordial, with no one raising their voice, no calls for duels, nor challenges to arm wrestle.
