CMS academic team members finish 7th at region competition CMS finished region competition in seventh place overall, and in fourth place in quick recall. CMS defeated Salem and Taylor County elementary schools. Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer Campbellsville Independent Schools Campbellsville Middle School fourth- and fifth-grade academic team members finished in seventh place at region competition. At the District Governor's Cup competition on Saturday, February 11, all CMS team members won awards to advance to region competition. Region competition was Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Clinton County Middle School. At Governor's Cup competition, teams compete in on-demand writing, quick recall, future problem solving and five written exams, including math, science, social studies, language arts and arts and humanities. In its district, Campbellsville Middle School fourth- and fifth-graders compete at the elementary school level against Kentucky Christian Academy and Taylor County. CMS finished as runners-up. At region, CMS competes against Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Taylor and Wayne counties, Jamestown, Russell Springs, Salem and Monticello. CMS finished region competition in seventh place overall, and in fourth place in quick recall. CMS defeated Salem and Taylor County elementary schools. CMS finished the Future Problem Solving competition in sixth place. Fifth-grader Karlie Cox received second place in the composition competition, and fifth-grader Angelic Seng received fourth place in the math competition.
