The Blue Raiders captured the 2017 MSC Cheerleading Championship with a nearly flawless routine tonight at the Frankfort Convention Center. Lindsey Wilson's previous best finish was third -- accomplished in 2013 and 2016. Lindsey Wilson scored 80.6 team points in the five-team competition. Georgetown (KY) finished second with 79.86 points followed by Pikeville (Ky.) with 76.43 points. Campbellsville (KY) and Cumberlands (Ky.) ended in fourth and fifth respectively. The cheer program gives Lindsey Wilson its 11th regular season or championship title in 2016-17 with tonight's title. Following the competition, MSC Commissioner Eric Ward presented four Blue Raiders with All Mid-South Conference honors. Megan Aubin and Gabby Pyles were selected to the All-MSC First Team, while Brandon Crews and Gracie Kurtz were named to the All-MSC Second Team. Aubin has now been selected to the MSC First Team all four years of her cheerleading career as a Blue Raider. Pyles, Crews and Kurtz each earn their first all-conference honor.
