Joyce Hubbard, 83, Taylor Co., KY (1933-2017)

She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom, Campbellsville, KY. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Roots & Dollie Cave Roots and the widow of James Walker Hubbard, her husband of 41 years. She leaves 11 direct living descendants. Traveling, shopping and spending time with friends were a few of her favorite things, but her most treasured times were spent with her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Joyce Hubbard, 83, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 5:30pmET, Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service for Joyce Hubbard will be at 9amCT/10amET, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. Neil Salvaterra and Rev. Richard Lowe. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville.



Joyce Hubbard, 83, Taylor Co., KY (1933-2017)


She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Roots & Dollie Cave Roots. She was born May 12, 1933, in Taylor County, KY. She died Sunday, February 26, 2017, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 83 years, nine months, and 14 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

Traveling, shopping and spending time with friends were a few of her favorite things, but her most treasured times were spent with her grandchildren, which she adored.

Joyce united in marriage to James Walker Hubbard December 10, 1949 and he preceded her in death October 16, 1991.

She is survived by:
  • Two sons and two daughters: J. W. Hubbard and Gary Hubbard of Lexington, KY; Lois Kemp of Campbellsville, KY; and Sharon Tepperberg and husband, Alfred of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • Six grandchildren: Joseph Walker Hubbard and Katie Hubbard of Lexington, KY; Terron Kemp and wife, Carla and Laura Allison Grannis and husband, Dustin of Mason, Ohio; Leigh Ann Crick and husband, Eric of Indianapolis, IN; and Benjamin Tepperberg of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • A great-granddaughter: Lauren Elizabeth Crick of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two brothers: Lawrence Roots and wife, Linda and Bobby Roots and wife, Judy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Joyce was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Darrell Kemp and a grandson, Matthew Thomas Hubbard.
