Fern Spears, age 82 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at her home.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 01, 2017 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Family requests visitation 5pm-9pmCT, on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Fern Spears, 82, Burkesville, KY (1935-2017)


She was born on January 08, 1935 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Allen Osby Spears & Cassie Capps Spears. She died Saturday, February 25, 2017, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 82 years, one month, and 17 days.

Fern was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church and a former employee of OshKosh B'Gosh.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Huddleston; and three brothers, Stanley Spears, Lloyd Spears, and Keen Spears.

Survivors include:
  • One son: Rickie Booher of Burkesville, KY

  • Three sisters: Estelle Pruitt of Burkesvile, KY, Betty Brown of Burkesville, KY, and Lucy Waldrup of Indianapolis, IN

  • One brother: Lonnie Spears of Port St. Lucie, FL

  • Two grandchildren: Jeanette Banter of Burkesville, KY and Cody Bracksieck of Texas

  • Three great grandchildren: Devin Banter, Jaden Banter, and Karmyn Banter

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
