Mary Brown, 70, Russell County, KY (1946-2017)

She was the matriarch of a very large, respected Russell County, KY, family. She was a native of Jamestown, KY, a resident of the city at the time of her death, and her final resting place will be in Jamestown Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Lucy Brown & Joe Bell and the widow of Murrell Brown. With Mary Brown's passing, 11 of her 13 siblings survive. She leaves 67 direct living descendants.

Mary Brown,70, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017, in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral services for Mary Brown will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY at 1pmCT, Tueday February 28, 2017, with Bro. Phillip Miller officiating. Friends may visit after 11amCT on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in the Jamestown Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.

Mary was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY on April 28, 1946. She was a daughter of the late Lucy (Brown) & Joe Bell. She died Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 70 years, 10 months.

She is survived by:
  • Four sons: Jerry and Barry Brown, of Jamestown, KY; and Wayne and Randy Brown, of Russell Springs, KY

  • Four daughters: Sherry Miller and Sharon Stargle, of Russell Springs, KY; and Joanneth and Marilyn Burchett, of Jamestown, KY

  • Six brothers: J.D., Kenneth, Roger, Eddie, Andy Bell, of Jamestown, KY; and Phillip Bell of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Five sisters: Dorothy Wesley, Janice Vine, Christine Norris, Rita Guffey, and Anna Ray all of Jamestown, KY

  • Thirty grandchildren

  • And 29 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Murrell Brown, son Mark Brown, and two sisters Bessie Elmore and Alma Jones.
