Darrell King, 78, Liberty, KY (1938-2017)

He was a Retired Mail Carrier and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was the son of the late Vernon Wallace & Elsie Cochran King. His wife, Leona Phillips King, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants.

Darrell King, age 78, of Liberty, KY passed away on Sunday February 19, 2017 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty.

Funeral Services will be held 10amCT/11amET, Thursday February 23, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Donald Marcum officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Wednesday February 22, 2017 and after 7amCT/8amET, on Thursday February 23, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born in Liberty, KY on August 9th, 1938 a son of the late Vernon Wallace and Elsie Cochran King.

Darrell was a Retired Mail Carrier and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Survivors include:
  • His Spouse: Leona Phillips King

  • Two daughters: Carole King and Melissa and (Thomas) Cravens both of Liberty, KY

  • Two granddaughters: Abby MaKenna Cravens and Gena Beth Cravens

  • One sister: Wilma Scott of Liberty, KY
  • Two brothers: Dale King and Allan and (Beverly) King both of Liberty, KY
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one son, William Kent King.
