He retired from Kentucky Fried Chicken, Inc. as Maintenance Supervisor. He was the son of the late Allen & Edith Kemp Bennett of Adair County, KY. His wife of 64 years, Marie J. Smith Bennett, survives. He leaves 23 direct living descendants.

Donnie L. Bennett, 83 Years of Louisville, KY formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens (West). Visitation will be Tuesday at 1pm-7pmCT/2pm-8pmCT, at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late Allen & Edith Kemp Bennett of Adair County, KY

Donnie was preceded in death by his son Marshall Bennett

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marie J. (Smith) Bennett of Louisville, KY, and the following:
  • Children: Fay Bennett of Louisville, KY; Kay Bennett of Louisville, KY; Deborah L. White & her husband Doug of Cane Valley, KY; and Felisa G. Feign & her husband Jeremy of Louisville, KY

  • Daughter-in-law: Tammy Bennett of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Eleven great-grandchildren.
