Louise Thomas, Casey County, KY (1945-2017)

She was a homemaker. She professed her faith in Christ and was a faithful member of Oak Grove Church of Christ until her passing. She enjoyed sewing and made the most beautiful handmade quilts for her family and friends to warm and comfort them. Louise was an excellent cook and knew everyone's favorite food. She loved her friends so dearly and adored her family completely. Her husband, Don Paul Thomas, survives. She leaves 19 direct living descendants.

Louise Thomas, age 71, of Liberty, KY passed away on Friday February 17, 2017 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT/2pmET, Monday February 20, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY with Bro. James D. McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 10amCT/11amET, Monday February 20, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

Louise Thomas was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY on September 2, 1945. She was a daughter of the late Columbus and Lorene Coffey Roy. She died Friday February 17, 2017 in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 71 years, five months, and 15 days.

Survivors include:
  • Her spouse: Don Paul Thomas, whom she married on September 15, 1962

  • Four sons: Paul and (Jennifer) Thomas of Liberty, KY; Ronnie and (Traci) Thomas of Liberty, KY; Michael and (Amy) Thomas of Liberty, KY; and Steven and (Christy) Thomas of Danville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Tamera, Megan, Corey, Hailey, Hilary, Madysen, Rylee, Casieus and Katelyn

  • Six great grandchildren: Branson, Myah, Lilly, Wesson, Halenna and Gavin

  • Two sisters: Josephine and (Lloyd) Wilson of Liberty, KY; and Brenda and (Earl) Wilson of Liberty, KY

  • Sisters-in-law: Shirley Elmore of Liberty, KY; Martha Roy of Dunnville, KY; and Louise Roy of Windsor, KY
Preceding her in death besides her parents were six brothers: Junior Roy, Bobby Roy, Kelly Ray Roy, Lester "Doodler" Roy, Ronald Gene Roy, and Jackie Roy and one sister: Opal Bernard.
