By Charles Balcom, Assistant Sports Information Director CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - (Tue 31 Jan 2017) The seventh-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team suffered its first Mid-South Conference dual loss on Tuesday night as the Blue Raiders fell to No. 4-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) 20-15 at the Powell Athletic Center. The loss drops the Blue Raiders to 9-5 on the year and 5-1 in MSC duals while snapping a nine-dual win streak. Campbellsville improves to 15-7 and 6-2 in the Mid-South with the win. Lindsey Wilson's loss also snaps a five-dual win streak against the Tigers. Lindsey Wilson led 15-8 with four matches to go in the dual, but dropped all four matches down the stretch, including three in overtime as the Tigers came back to win. No. 2-ranked Adrian Camposano jumped all over Colt Olinde early at the 125-pound match to start the dual, taking a 6-2 lead following the first period. Camposano continued to stretch the advantage, eventually securing a 23-7 tech fall in the third period to put the Tigers up 5-0. Brady Moser got the Blue Raiders on the board with an 11-6 decision over Aaron Rugnao at 133 pounds. Moser used a pair of takedowns in the first and second periods to take a 5-1 lead into the third. He added another two takedowns in the third period to cut the overall dual lead to 5-3. Campbellsville answered with a decision win at 141 pounds. No. 13-ranked Jayce Carr defeated Lucas McCain 12-6. Carr led 8-4 in the third period when McCain attempted to secure a near fall, but could not finish the process and reversed to go ahead 10-4. Carr's win put the host Tigers up 8-3 in the dual. The Blue Raiders then rallied off three-straight victories to take a 15-8 lead. In one of two top-five matches on the night, fifth-ranked Daniel Leonard battled third-ranked Jaedin Sklapsky at 149 pounds. After a scoreless opening period, Leonard rode Sklapsky the entire second period and prevented an escape. Leonard escaped in his down third period and added the ride time point for the 2-0 win, bringing the score to 8-6. Top-ranked Cam Tessari put the Blue Raiders back out front after he pinned Michael Diemer in the 157-pound match in four minutes and 23 seconds to make it a 12-8 LWC lead. Cole Overman made it a 15-8 Lindsey Wilson advantage after he shut out LJ Henderson with a 6-0 decision at 165 pounds. Overman had a first period takedown and prevented an escape, escaped himself in the second period, and added a two-point near fall in the third period en route to the win. The Tigers began mounting their comeback at the 174-pound match. After a scoreless opening period between No. 9-ranked Colton Gonzalez and No. 12-ranked Justin Brown, each grappler secured just a single escape the next two periods as the match went into overtime. In that first sudden-victory period, Gonzalez barely missed on a takedown attempt and Brown pounced by securing a takedown of his own to win the match SV-1 3-1 and close the gap down to 15-11. In the second top five-matchup of the evening, fifth-ranked Matt Walker took on top-ranked Chuck Sharon. A Sharon takedown put Walker behind in the first period, but Walker secured an escape seconds before the buzzer. Walker escaped in the third period to level the match 2-2, but another Sharon takedown and the ride-time advantage gave Sharon the 5-3 victory, cutting the Blue Raider dual lead down to a single point at 15-14. In the 197-pound match, Corey Hinkle used a takedown of Tyler Rowland with three seconds to go in the opening period to take a 2-0 lead. Hinkle added a two-point near fall in the second period to build a 4-0 lead, Rowland adding an escape to make it 4-1 heading to the third. But Hinkle was hit with a pair of stall penalties in the third period and Rowland earned the ride-time point to tie the match at 4-4 and force overtime. Rowland secured the winning takedown in overtime for the SV-1 6-4 victory to put Campbellsville back out front 17-15. It all came down to the heavyweight class where Ameer Daniels grappled with No. 15-ranked Terrell Moore. After a scoreless first, Moore escaped in the second period to go up 1-0. Daniels was able to secure a takedown right on the edge of the mat to take a 2-1 lead. Moore added another escape to level the match at 2-2 heading to the third period. Daniels escaped in his down period to go up 3-2. Moore grabbed hold of one of Daniels' legs, but he was able to spin and wriggle free to avoid the takedown. But then, with just two seconds to go in the match, Daniels was hit with a stalling penalty that leveled the match at 3-3 and forced overtime. Before the overtime period even began, Daniels was hit with an unsportsmanlike penalty that gave Moore the SV-1 4-3 win and the Tigers the 20-15 dual victory.
