Mr. Delmar L. Jones, Taylor Co., KY (1935-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Dunnville Church of God. He was the owner and operator of a sealcoating and tree trimming business for several years in Taylor County, KY. He was the son of the late Ira Thomas & Hazel May (Osborne) Jones. His wife of 60 years, Mary Scroggins Jones, survives. He leaves a total of 19 children and grandchildren.

Mr. Delmar L. Jones, age 81, of Campbellsville, KY, departed this life on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, KY.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Jones on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Ted Stidham and Bro. Tim Hall will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Elliot Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Monday, January 30, 2017.

Mr. Delmar L. Jones of Campbellsville was born on July 14, 1935. He was the son of the late Ira Thomas & Hazel May (Osborne) Jones. He departed this life on Friday, January 27, 2017 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 13 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Dunnville Church of God. He was the owner and operator of a sealcoating and tree trimming business for several years in Taylor County.


His wife of 60 years: Mary (Scroggin) Jones of Campbellsville, KY, and the following:
  • Five children: Jewel Broadhurst of Jeffersonville, IN; and Delmar Ray Jones and wife Dawn, Billy Lee Jones, Crickett Richardson and husband Todd, and Mary Kathleen Milby and husband Mike, all of of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eight brothers and sisters: Doris Martin and husband Barry of Georgia, Hobert Jones and wife Brenda, Roy Jones and wife Renee of Jeffersonville, IN; Willard Jones and wife Phyllis of Charlestown, IN' Christine Clements and husband Eugene of Charlestown, IN; Irene Payton and husband Billy of English, IN; Sharon Whitlock and husband Bill of Campbellsville, KY; and Linda Covey and husband Roger of Campbellsville, KY Eleven grandchildren

  • Fourteen great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other family and friends.
