CES hosts kindergarten readiness workshop 24 Jan 2017 CES Principal Ricky Hunt will lead the workshop, with kindergarten teachers Lisa Wiseman, Leanna Cundiff, Nikki Price and Kimberly Clark attending. Click on headline for complete details By Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS) Campbellsville Elementary School will host a free kindergarten readiness workshop for parents. The workshop will begin at 4:30pmCT/5:30pmET on Tuesday, January 24, in the CES cafeteria, Campbellsville Elementary School, 315 Roberts Road, Campbellsville, KY. All parents with children who will start kindergarten this August or in coming years are welcome to attend. CES Principal Ricky Hunt will lead the workshop, with kindergarten teachers Lisa Wiseman, Leanna Cundiff, Nikki Price and Kimberly Clark attending. At the workshop, parents will learn important information about how to prepare their children for kindergarten. Also discussed will be changes to the enrollment process and Brigance screenings. Teachers will also be available to meet with parents in small groups to discuss activities that can be done at home to help students prepare for school. Some of those techniques include writing, counting, recognizing colors, shapes, letters and sounds, reading, practicing holding scissors, pencils, crayons and glue sticks, and knowing their name, age, address and phone number.
