Chanel Roberts, LWC, is Women's Basketball National Player of Week

Lindsey Wilson Senior was named MSC Player of the Week on Monday. Today, she became only the fourth Blue Raider Women's Basketball player in program history to be name the NAIA National Player of the Week.

COLUMBIA, KY - (Tue 17 Jan 2017) - Chanel Roberts has been selected as the NAIA Women's Basketball National Player of the Week, officials from the national office announced on Tuesday.



The senior becomes just the fourth recipient of the award in program history and the first Blue Raider to do so since former Blue Raider Viktoria Krell received the honor during the 2008-09 season.

The award comes after Roberts averaged 18.0 points per game and a 62.9 shooting percentage in a trio of Lindsey Wilson victories.

She scored 21 points in a 76-64 road win over No. 15 Cumberland (TN), had 15 against No. 23 Pikeville (KY), and wrapped up the week with 18 in the win over Cumberlands (KY). Roberts collected 13 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and a block throughout the week.

Lindsey Wilson is currently 17-0 on the year with a 5-0 record in Mid-South Conference play.
