Paetzold is MSC Men's Swimmer of the Week

By Charlie Balcom

For the third time this season, Clemens Paetzold is the Mid-South Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The sophomore from Ratzeburg, Germany collected six wins during the week as part of a 3-0 dual record for the Blue Raiders. Paetzold recorded four individual victories and two relay victories to go along with five national cuts.

His first national standard was a bonus cut in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:13.92.

Paetzold then notched "A" standards in the 100-meter backstroke (1:01.20), 200-meter freestyle relay (1:01.20), 200-yard medley relay (1:40.97) and 100-yard backstroke (54.72).

He helped Lindsey Wilson to dual victories over Milligan (Tenn.), 127-52, Warren Wilson (N.C.), 150-6, and Transylvania (Ky.), 120-25.

Paetzold earns his third swimmer of the week honor this season and sixth of his career.
