There will a special called meeting of the Adair County Hospital District at 7amCT/8amET, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Federal Courthouse, 601 W Broadway Louisville, KY.

The purpose of this meeting is to enter into a mediation with Aetna/Coventry in order to hopefully reach a settlement with Aetna on their claims against the District in the Chapter 9 bankruptcy proceedings.

The Board will convene the special called meeting at the Federal Courthouse in Louisville, and will immediately go into executive session in order to negotiate with Aetna on the terms of a settlement.

If an agreement is reached, the Board will vote on the agreement when it reconvenes in open session at the courthouse. At this time it is unknown how long the meeting will last, and if an agreement will be reached.

This will be the last negotiation the Board will have to engage in with creditors. All other claims have either been accepted by the Board, rejected, or negotiated to a mutually agreed amount. The remaining responsibility of the Board after Wednesday will be to ensure that the terms of the Chapter 9 Plan of Adjustment are carried out, that any remaining business of the District is properly closed out, and that all regulatory reporting requirements are met.

Neal M. Gold, Administrator, Adair County Hospital District
