LWC's Chanel Roberts is MSC Women's Basketball Player of Week

COLUMBIA, KY (Mon 16 Jan 2017) - Lindsey Wilson senior Chanel Roberts has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.



The forward from Radcliff, Kentucky averaged 18 points per game while shooting 62.9 percent from the field in a trio of Lindsey Wilson victories last week.

She started the week with 21 points and five rebounds as the Blue Raiders beat No. 15 Cumberland (Tenn.) on the road 76-64.

Roberts then scored 15 points in an 89-62 win over No. 23 Pikeville (Ky.) and capped off the week with 18 points in Lindsey Wilson's 84-60 win over Cumberlands (Ky.). She has scored in double figures in 15 of the 16 games she has played in this season.

She ended the week with 13 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and a block, while the Blue Raiders are 17-0 overall and 5-0 in the MSC.

Roberts earns her first weekly honor of the season and fourth of her career.
