Campbellsville Independent Schools' bus driver Paul Nuckols received this month's Dare to Soar award.

Superintendent Mike Deaton made the presentation at the regular Campbellsville Board of Education meeting on Monday, January 9, 2017.

Nuckols worked for the District for 30 years before retiring in 2010. He returned to work last fall to help in the District's transportation deparment.

Deaton said it's written on Nuckols's nomination form that Nuckols has gone above what has been asked of him.

Nuckols has served as a substitute driver on all of the District's routes and has volunteered to drive for several sports teams and extracuricular groups.

"He does so with a smile and the utmost professionalism," Deaton read.

Band parents complemented Nuckols on him driving the group to a competition and his willingness to help them prepare to compete.

"This is not uncommon, as most people who Paul comes into contact with have a wonderful experience and appreciate his efforts as their driver," the nomination reads. "Mr. Nuckols has been a huge asset to our transportation department, and an excellent ambassador for our District. I couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this award."

Board members thanked Nuckols for his service, and said he is a blessing ot the District.

"We truly do appreciate you, sir," Deaton said.

Nuckols said, "I'm just glad to be on board." - Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer, Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS)
