COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson women's golf head coach Eric Wyrick announced the signing of Morgan Markwell for the 2017-18 season on Wednesday, January 4, 2016

Markwell joins the Blue Raiders from Morgan County High School in West Liberty, Kentucky where she is a two-time Kentucky High School State Golf Tournament qualifier.

"I am very pleased to have Morgan join us beginning in the fall of 2017," Wyrick said. "She is a top-notch young lady who has a very bright future ahead of her."

Markwell was named to the All-State Second Team and All-Region 11 Team in 2016 while also receiving All-Area Team honors for the fourth time in as many years. She also was champion of the Eastern Kentucky Conference in 2013-14.

In addition to her success at the high school level she is a three-time winner and three-time runner-up on the PGA Kentucky Junior Golf Tour.

"I have been impressed with the maturity of Morgan from day one, seeing how she manages her academics and golf," Wyrick said. "She has had a very solid junior golf career, and because of that I am certain she will adapt quickly to college golf. I cannot wait to see what she will do as a Blue Raider."
