Campbellsville will celebrate 200th birthday

Campbellsville will celebrate her 200th birthday on Tuesday January 3, 2017, this will kick off our yearlong celebration of events.

The birthday party will be 4:30pm-5:30pmCT;5:30-6:30pmET, Tuesday at the Campbellsville Civic Center (the old library), 205 N Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, and will feature cake, punch, history of the city.



Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin has recorded a video birthday greeting and proclamation honoring Campbellsville for 200 years of prosperity.

Campbellsville was created in January 1817 in Green County, KY, and named after Andrew Campbell who developed the city.

In 1848 Taylor County was created out of Green County and the city of Campbellsville became the seat of Taylor County.
