Russell Co. is top county for ABC licenses in CM 7-County area

CM 7-County Region now has 73 licensed alcoholic beverage outlets, an estimated 7-fold increase since January 1, 2016

Russell County ranks Number 1 in total of ABC licenses in the 7-County Area as of December 31, 2016, according to KY Alcoholic Beverage Commission License Look Up Portal.
  1. Russell County - 30 total ABC licenses issue
  2. Adair County - 12 total ABC licenses issue
  3. Cumberland County - 11 total ABC licenses issue
  4. Metcalfe County - 9 total ABC licenses issue (tied with Taylor but growing at a faster rate
  5. Taylor County - 9 total ABC licenses, all in Campbellsville
  6. Green County - 2 total ABC licenses
  7. Casey County - 0 total ABC licenses. Bone dry, nary a drop of legal sales
Last year on New Year's Eve, the CM 7-County area had one moist city - Campbellsville, in all of the region encompassing Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor Counties.

New Year's Day, 2017, finds legal sales of alcoholic beverages in a majority of the territory - county wide "wet" in five of the counties; Campbellsville "wet" in the city, and Sunday sales permitted in two cities, Columbia and Jamestown - the latter through a special revenue arrangement with Russell County Fiscal Court.
