Richard M. "Buster" French, age 81, of Campbellsville, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at the home of his sister following an illness.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 12pmCT/1pmET, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Darrell Ford officiating. Burial is in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. The family requested visitation from 9amCT/10amET, until time for the service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Buster was born October 13, 1935 in Taylor County, KY. He was the son of the late Charlie and Lissie Harris French. He died Monday, December 21, 2016, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 81 years, two months, and eight days. Also, preceding him in death was a son, David Richard French, a brother, Bobby French, a half sister, Mildred Shuffett and a nephew, David Ford.

Over the years, he worked as a carpenter as well as working part-time at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home. Buster was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by:
  • Two brothers: Clifford French of Campbellsville, KY; and Garnett French of Ohio

  • One sister: Betty Wilson of Campbellsville, KY
  • Several nieces and nephews survive as well as a host of friends
