Mr. Wesley Goodin, 93, Adair County, KY (1923-2016)

He was the patriarch of a large, highly regarded NE Adair County, KY family. He was a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church, a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Hood Masonic Lodge and was a retired farmer.

Wesley Goodin, 93 years of the Millerfield Community of Adair County passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 1:43amCT, at his home after several weeks illness.

Funeral service, Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11amCT, at New Hope Separate Baptist Church, 10706 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with Bro. David Coffey the officiating clergy. Interment will be in in the New Hope Cemetery, 131 New Hope Cemetery Road, Columbia, KY, with full military rites presented by the Columbia VFW Post 6097. Masonic rites will be conferred at 7pmCT on Thursday night, December 22, by the Hood Masonic Lodge, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation will begin after 4:30pmCT, on Thursday and Friday from 6amCT till 8:30amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home and after 9amCT, Friday morning at New Hope Separate Baptist Church.



Mr. Wesley Goodin, 93, Adair County, KY (1923-2016)

He was born February 18, 1923. He died Wednesday, December 21, 2016, in the Millerfield Community of Adair County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and three days.

He was preceded in death by his wives: Millie Frances Hitch Goodin in 1984 and Marie Greer Goodin in 2012 He was also preceded in death by two sons. Ronald Dale and Rufus Dean Goodin; and these siblings: Stanley Goodin, Leonard Goodin, Rev. Carey Goodin, Joseph Junior Goodin, Annie Lou Goodin and Delta Stargel.

He is survived by five daughters: Janet Elaine Burton and husband David, Sharon Gale Melton and husband Chuck; Rebecca Frances Wood and husband Guy all of Campbellsville, KY; Vickie Jo Milby and husband Jerry of Summersville, KY, and Beverly Ann Powell and husband Dave of Columbia, KY
  • Two sisters: Margaret Miller and Juanita Warren both of Columbia, KY, and Ella Newland and Reba McAwain both of Indiana

  • Fifteen grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • A host of nieces and nephews

  • And special friends: the Amos Gaskin Family
Mr. Goodin was a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church, a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Hood Masonic Lodge and was a retired farmer.
