Butler Co. Grand Jury issues indictments in double murder

Roundhill, KY (Mon 19 Dec 2016)- The Butler County Grand Jury issued Indictments for four subjects in connection to the double murder that occurred on November 9, 2016 on Region-Reedyville Road in rural Butler County where two bodies were discovered in a burnt vehicle.


Charles W. "Cotton" Lindsey (33) of Roundhill was indicted and remains in the Butler County Jail, Morgantown, KY, where he is charged with:
  • Murder (2 counts)
  • Arson 1st Degree
  • Tampering With Physical Evidence
Arlexis D. Kawai (22) of Bowling Green, KY, was indicted and remains in the Warren County Regional Jail, Bowling Green, KY, where he is charged with:
  • Complicity to Murder (2 counts)
  • Facilitation to Murder(2 counts)
  • Complicity to Arson 1st Degree
  • Facilitation to Arson 1st Degree
  • Tampering With Physical Evidence
  • Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree
Helen L. Rone (21) of Roundhill was indicted and remains in the Butler County Jail where she is charged with:
  • Complicity to Murder (2 counts)
  • Facilitation to Murder (2 counts)
  • Complicity to Arson 1st Degree
  • Facilitation to Arson 1st Degree
  • Tampering With Physical Evidence
Kayla D. Ford (27) of Edmonton was indicted, arrested by the Bowling Green Police Department, and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail where she is charged with:
  • Complicity to Murder (2 counts)
  • Facilitation to Murder (2 counts)
  • Complicity to Arson 1st Degree
  • Facilitation to Arson 1st Degree
  • Tampering With Physical Evidence
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Detective Graham Rutherford. No other details are available for release at this time. Now that this case is pending trial in Butler County Circuit Court, the Kentucky State Police will have no further public comment about the investigation. Any further inquiries for information should be directed to the Butler County Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
