He died Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 64 years, five months, and 22 days. He was a former gate hauler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Dick Spears, who died December 17, 2006; and two brothers, Burel and Basil Spears. Survivors include:
