Bennie Spears of Liberty, KY passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 64.

Graveside services are 1:30pmCT/2:30pmET, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Salyers Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Clark officiating. Burial will follow service. Friends will gather Wednesday at 1pmCT/2pmET, at the cemetery.



Bennie Spears, 64, Casey County, KY (1952-2016)


Born June 25, 1952 in Pulaski County, KY, he was the son of the late Hershel and Ina Ashley Spears. He died Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 64 years, five months, and 22 days.

He was a former gate hauler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Dick Spears, who died December 17, 2006; and two brothers, Burel and Basil Spears.

Survivors include:
  • A son: Benson Spears of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Brenda (and William) Roberts of Liberty, KY; and Belinda Spears (and Jonathan Luttrell) of Liberty, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Six great-grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Barry (and Betty Jo) Spears of Yosemite, KY; and Burt (and Debbie) Spears of Bethelridge, KY
