Adair Co. Grand Jury returns indictments 13 Dec 2016

Charges brought against seven individuals, all from Columbia, KY. Charges include trafficking, possession of forged instruments, theft, assault, and evading police.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Columbia, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, 13 December 2016:

  • Bethany Popplewell (01/12/1993), B. Goodin Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00175. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in marijuana, >5 lbs, 1st offense. Count 2 - Fleeing or evading police, 2nd degree. Bail set at $5,000 c/p. Arraignment 1/10/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Amber Joseph (05/05/1994), N. Bramlett St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00176. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Bail set at $1,500 c/p. Arraignment 1/10/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Joseph A. Murrell (09/16/1989) Indictment No. 16-CR-00177. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Receiving stolen property (firearm). Bail set at $5,000 c/p. Count 2 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Count 3 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Arraignment 1/10/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Tyler Stapleton (07/28/1997), Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00178. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking or disposition, $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail set at $2,500 c/p. Arraignment 1/10/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Larry V. West (10/04/1991), N. Bramlett St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00179. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Assault, 2nd degree. Arraignment 1/10/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Miranda Kelly (03/23/1991) Indictment No. 16-CR-00190. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Criminal possession of a forged instrument, 2nd degree. Bail set at $1,500 c/p. Arraignment 1/10/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Travis D. Crew (06/07/1983), B. Goodin Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 16-CR-00181. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in marijuana, >5 lbs., 2nd offense. Count 2 - Fleeing or evading police, 2nd degree. Count 3 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bail set at $25,000 cash. Arraignment 1/10/2017 at 1pmCT.
