James Atwood (Wood) Corbin, Green Co./Adair Co., KY native (1941-2016)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church. He was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. Mr. Corbin was also a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Army. He was a member of a highly regarded South Green County family. He was a native of Adair County, KY, the son of the late Bradley Corbin and Lorene Sneed Corbin. His wife of 51 years, Martha Lee Leggett Corbin, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants.

Mr. James Atwood "Wood" Corbin of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. James Atwood "Wood" Corbin will be conducted at 1pmCT, Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liberty Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Todd Davis and Bro. Gleason Bloyd will officiate. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Friday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Josh James, Jason Beard, Robert Glasscoe, Phillip Moss, Rodney Dudley, and Luke Shuffett

Honorary pallbearers: Tylar Anne Corbin, Madilynn Grace Corbin, and Whitley Gage Corbin

James Atwood (Wood) Corbin, Green Co./Adair Co., KY native (1941-2016)

Mr. James Atwood "Wood" Corbin of Greensburg, Kentucky, was the son of the late Bradley Corbin and Lorene Sneed Corbin. He was born on August 28, 1941 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY. He was 75 years, three months, and one day of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church. He was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. Mr. Corbin was also a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Lee Leggett Corbin of Greensburg, KY having united in marriage on November 18, 1965.

Other survivors include:
  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: James Walter "Jim" Corbin, and Eric Tyler "Ty" and Andrea Corbin all of Greensburg, KY

  • Grandchildren: Tylar Anne Corbin, Madilynn Grace Corbin, and Whitley Gage Corbin all of Greensburg, KY

  • Two brothers and sisters-in-law: Glen and Judy Corbin, and Jerry and Guyanne Corbin all of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister and brother-in-law: Jo Ann and Greg Willis of Greensburg, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Corbin was also preceded in death by a brother: David Leon Corbin.
