Alex F. Young, Taylor County, KY (1949-2016)

He was a former Jefferson County Police Officer and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from Senator Mitch McConnell. After moving to Lawrenceburg, KY, he worked with the Department of Emergency Services in Frankfort where he retired. Alex was a devout member of the NRA, loved to shoot guns and earned his private pilot license for single engine airplanes.

Alex F. Young, 67, of Lawrenceburg, KY, formerly of Campbellsville, KY, e died at 1:52pmET, Monday, November 21, 2016 in Lawrenceburg, KY.

There will be a funeral service for Alex F. Young at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. John Chowning. Visitation will be after 10amCT/11amET, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY.



Alex F. Young, Taylor County, KY (1949-2016)


Alex F. Young was the son of the late Alexander "Jack" Young and Grace Frances Pike Young. He was born June 5, 1949, in Jeffersonville, Floyd County, IN. He died at Monday, November 21, 2016 in Lawrenceburg, Anderson County, KY, at the age of 67 years, five months, and 16 days.


He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

He was a former Jefferson County Police Officer and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from Senator Mitch McConnell. After moving to Lawrenceburg, KY, he worked with the Department of Emergency Services in Frankfort where he retired. Alex was a devout member of the NRA, loved to shoot guns and earned his private pilot license for single engine airplanes.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son and one daughter: A. J. Young and wife, Amy of Pewee Valley and Amanda Minteer of Crestwood, KY

  • One grandson: Bryson Minteer of Crestwood, KY

  • One sister: Viella Ellis of Mt. Vernon, KY

  • Mother of his children: Peggy Young Carper of Louisville, KY

  • And many other relatives and friends.

    He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Young August 22, 2000.
