She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Hanson, Kentucky. She was a former resident of Burkesville and was a graduate Cumberland County High School Class of 1975, and a homemaker. She was a resident of Fairdale, KY, at the time of her death. Her final resting place will be in the Lucinda Bernard Cemetery in Russell County, KY.

Ms. Verna Jill Price Groce of Fairdale, KY, formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Norton's Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY.

Funeral Services for Ms. Verna Jill Price Groce be conducted on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 1pmCT, at the Russell Springs United Methodist Church, 206 Jamestown Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Mark Price officiating and a eulogy will be shared by Mary Clayton. Burial will follow in the Lucinda Bernard Cemetery in Russell County, KY. The family will receive friends after 10amCT, on Wednesday November 16, 2016 until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Jill's request is that her family and friends dress casually, blue jeans and casual attire, for her visitation and celebration of life service.

She was born in Pulaski County, KY on Saturday, December 17, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Vernon Roe and Thelma Ethel Bernard Price. She died Saturday, November 12, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, having attained the age of 60 years, 10 months, and 26 days.

She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Hanson, Kentucky, A graduate of Cumberland County High School Class of 1975, and a homemaker. She is survived by the following:
  • Her son: Keith Allen (and Lisa) Groce of Summer Shade, KY

  • Her siblings: Deborah Lou (and William Dieffenwierth) of Louisville, KY; "Tim" Timothy Roe (and Becky) Price of Glasgow, KY; Rev. Dennis Paul (and Lynette) Price of Russell Springs, KY; Rev. Howard Mark (and Rebecca) Price of Campbellsville, KY; and Karen Sue (and Michael) Schur of Charlestown, IN

  • Four grandchildren: Dawson Allen Groce, William Layne Groce, Braelyn Kye Hagan and Jalyn Alexa Hagan.
Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY in charge of all funeral arrangements.
