Lester Coffey, 81, Russell County, KY (1935-2016)

He was a farmer and a veteran of US Army and will be accorded full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard at committal rite. He was a member of a large, respected Russell County, KY family. He was the son of Cyrus Bascum & Opal Aaron Coffey. He leaves 15 direct living descendants.

Lester Coffey, 81, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Graveside service for Lester Coffey will be 10amCT, Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Coffey Family Cemetery with Bro. Bill Welker officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment in the Coffey Family Cemetery. The Russell County Honor Guard will render full military honors.



Lester Coffey, 81, Russell County, KY (1935-2016)


He was born February 7, 1935 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Cyrus Bascum & Opal Aaron Coffey. He died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 81 years, nine months, and one day.

He was a farmer and a veteran of US Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Carlos, Eugene, Ernie, Darrell Coffey; and two sisters, Geraldine Coffey, Phoebe Denning. Survivors include:
  • Two children: Barry (Gaye) Coffey, Jamestown, KY; and Vickie (Jeff) McGaha, Russell Springs, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Six great grandchildren

  • One sister: Carol (David) Holt, Jamestown, KY

  • One brother: Bruce (Judy) Coffey, Milford, Ohio
