LWC Swimming beats Campbellsville and Union on Saturday Click on headline for complete story, details of outstanding performances by Emily Wood, Jessica Macdonald and Ines Khiyara By Charles Balcom Lindsey Wilson Sports Information Director CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team won a pair of dual victories on Saturday over Campbellsville (KY) and Union (KY) at the Powell Athletic Center Pool. The Blue Raiders (4-1) defeated Union 154-90 and took down the host Tigers 140-113 to earn their fourth-consecutive dual victory this year. Emily Wood, Jessica Macdonald and Ines Khiyara combined for eight individual event wins on the day. Wood won the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 10 minutes and 6.41 seconds for the first Blue Raider victory of the day. She later went on to win the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:52.55 and was part of the runner-up 200-meter relay team. Macdonald earned her three individual wins in the 200-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle and the 200-meter individual medley. Khiyara also collected three individual victories, doing so in the 100-meter breaststroke, 50-meter freestyle and 200-meter breaststroke. In both the breaststroke events, she narrowly edged out teammate Caitlin Freeny, who claimed second place in each event. Khiyara and Macdonald made it a perfect 4-for-4 day in victories after teaming up with Bailey Seitz and Wood to win the 200-meter freestyle relay. This story was posted on 2016-11-06 03:36:31
