Ms. Jean Gibson Irby, 68, Burkesville, KY (1948-2016) Jean was a talented entertainer. She started singing as a child and was a regular performer at Renfro Valley. The only thing that outshined her musical talent was her ability as a cook. She was a member of Burkesville First United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Campbellsville College and her Master’s Degree and Rank I at Western Kentucky University. She was a school teacher for the Adair County Board of Education and the Cumberland County Board of Education, beginning her teaching career in 1970 and retiring in 2001. She was a member of a highly regarded Breeding, KY, area family, and a resident of Burkesville, KY, at the time of her death.
