Russell County man charged with murder

70-year-old Douglas W. Carnes was found dead at his residence and appeared to have been involved in an altercation that led to him being beaten and cut to death

JAMESTOWN, KY - (Sun 30 Oct 2016) - 53-year-old Rick D. McWhorter, of Jamestown, KY was arrested and charged with murder on October 29, 2016 at 3:45pmCT.



70-year-old Douglas W. Carnes of 687 South Main Street, Jamestown Manor, Jamestown, KY was found dead in his residence on Saturday morning, October 29, 2016 at approximately 7:46amCT.

Carnes appeared to have been involved in an altercation that led to him being beaten and cut to death. An autopsy was performed earlier today at the state medical examiner's office. Results are pending.

McWhorter was lodged in the Russell County jail. Detective Mike Dubree is investigating.
