LWC Assistant Director of International Student Programs

On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, the International Student Programs and several faculty members at Lindsey Wilson College presented the Culture Shock II workshop.

Culture shock is experienced not only by international students, but also students moving from high school to college, from a metropolitan area to a more rural setting, from home schooling to college, etc.

The goal of the workshop was to explain the term culture shock, show the four stages of it, and explore effective coping strategies.

The highlight of the workshop was the brain-dating activity, through which attendees learned differences and similarities between different cultures as well as personal strategies of coping with big changes in life.
