LWC Volleyball hosts Asbury in Dig Pink Match By Matt Wurzburger The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team plays host to Asbury (KY) Tuesday night, October 25, 2016 at 6:30pmCT in its annual Dig Pink match, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders (23-1) are joining with the Side-Out Foundation and their Dig Pink Rally to raise funds for breast cancer research and show support to those affected by the disease. Lindsey Wilson will wear pink uniforms, and all proceeds from Tuesday's match as well as donations will be given to the Side-Out Foundation. Lindsey Wilson claimed three victories in three-consecutive days last week. The Blue Raiders took down Campbellsville (Ky.) 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-9) on Thursday before notching a 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-10) victory over Bryan (Tenn.) on Friday night and defeating St. Thomas (Fla.) 3-0 (25-8, 25-20, 25-19) on Saturday. In the ten sets played during that span, the Blue Raiders limited their opponent to a negative hitting percentage four times and posted a cumulative attack percentage of .337. Elly Burke spearheaded the Lindsey Wilson assault in all three matches - collecting 33 kills on 61 total attacks and touching double digits each match. Asbury enters Tuesday night in the midst of a five match winning streak. The Eagles (11-12) picked up a pair of conference victories on Saturday - 3-2 over Indiana East and 3-0 against Ohio Christian. The doubleheader sweep improved Asbury to 8-3 in conference play. The Eagles average 11.8 kills per set behind the sharpshooting of Kayla Morlan. The Columbus, Ohio native leads the team in kills, and her .341 attack percentage is the 19th-best mark in the NAIA. Lindsey Wilson dispatched Asbury on August 27 in the final day of the Lindsey Wilson Invitational in straight sets. In that match, the Blue Raiders posted a .347 attack percentage and limited the Eagles to a .120 hitting mark.
