LWC Men's Golf leads RedHawk Fall Classic

Alex Durham is in five-way tie for ninth place

ATHENS, AL - (24 Oct 2016) - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team shot a 1-under par team score of 287 during the opening round of the RedHawk Fall Classic, hosted by Martin Methodist (TN) at Canebrake Golf Club.



The Blue Raiders hold a two-stroke lead over second place Free-Hardeman (TN) heading into the final day of competition on Tuesday. Lindsey Wilson's 1-under was the lone sub-par score at the par-72, 6,927-yard course.

Rasmus Broholt Lind and Federico Navarro are both one stroke off the lead after firing 2-under par 70s. The duo is tied for fourth place, trailing a three-way tie at the top by Freed-Hardeman's Easton Lavelle and Ben Burnette and Martin Methodist's Walker Gordon, who all shot 3-under.

Alex Durham is in a five-way tie for ninth place after carding a 1-over par 73 during his opening round in the field of 52 golfers. Teammate Ryan Nowe is one stroke behind Durham after his 2-over par 74 in a nine-way tie for 14th place. Steven McGowan completes the team after shooting 10-over par and sits in 42nd place.
