LWC Volleyball hosts No. 10 Georgetown in MSC rematch By Matt Wurzburger Mid-South Conference rivals converge on Biggers Sports Center Tuesday, as No. 2-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball serves host to No. 10-ranked Georgetown (Ky.). Tuesday night's match is the second in the season series between the Blue Raiders (15-1, 6-1 MSC) and the Tigers (18-2, 8-0 MSC). Georgetown handed Lindsey Wilson its only loss of the season to date in their first meeting on Sept. 22. That match, which the Tigers won 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 29-31), was hotly contested - Lindsey Wilson never led by more than three points in any set - and snapped the Blue Raiders' six-match regular season winning streak against their rival. Lindsey Wilson is coming off a two-day road swing against MSC foes Cumberlands (Ky.) and Pikeville (Ky.). The Blue Raiders dispatched the Patriots in straight sets (25-15, 25-20, 25-15) on Sept. 27. Lindsey Wilson hit a season-low .213 in the match but limited Cumberlands to a .031 attacking percentage behind Grace Blomstedt's six block assists - Blomstedt is 13th in the nation with 1.26 blocks per game. Lindsey Wilson then swept Pikeville (25-19, 25-5, 25-11) the following night. The Blue Raiders improved on attack - hitting .341 against the Bears. Eileen Acuna led Lindsey Wilson with nine kills. Georgetown took down Campbellsville (Ky.) in straight sets on Sept. 28. The Tigers posted a .169 attacking percentage but stifled Campbellsville - holding their opponent to a .088 hitting percentage. Lindsey Wilson boasts the NAIA's most potent attack - leading the nation in both attacking percentage (.307) and kills per game (14.78). The Tigers are holding opponents to a .092 hitting percentage and are 17th in the country with 2.28 blocks per game. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30pmCT tonight.
