Mrs. JoAnn (Nichols) Wessel was born in Louisville to the late Amos and Lucy Nichols on December 28, 1930 and departed this life on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 85 years, 8 months, and 26 days of age.

Mrs. Wessel professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith. She was a strong-willed lady, always full of class, and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She enjoyed intelligent conversations with anyone, but was a loyal Democrat. Always kind, she rescued many animals, some of whom remained companions for life.

She leaves to cherish her memory:
  • Her daughter, Lisa Wessel of Campbellsville,
  • A special niece, Mary Jane Banks of Louisville,
  • Close friends Tommy and Jill Pruyear, Hilda and Ernie Gabehart, Ann and Bob Underwood, Sue and Gerald Gribbins, Mark and Chris Dudgeon, and Steve and Lisa Beard, all of Campbellsville
  • Her furry friends, Honey Girl, Maggie, Rocky, Nikita, Angel, and Flappy,
  • And a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters: Charles Nichols, Bill Nichols, Pauline Reid, Jeanne Banks, and Margaret Elder.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to your favorite charity. Online condolences at lrpetty.com.
