Carolyn Sneed Samuell, 81, Adair County, KY (1934-2016)

She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Edmonton Manufacturing> She was a member of highly respected Adair County, KY family, the daughter of Harbert & Beatrice Compton Gowen, and the widow first of Archie Sneed (d. 1973), and later of Donald H. Samuell (d. 2012). She leaves six direct and two step living descendants.

Carolyn Sneed Samuell, age 81, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at 7:22amCT, at TJ Health Columbia Emergency Room in Columbia, KY

Funeral service will Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Bro. Larry Brown will be the officiating clergy. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Moore Cemetery, 225 Prices Creek Road, KY (in Adair County) Edmonton, KY.



Carolyn Sneed Samuell, 81, Adair County, KY (1934-2016)


She was born Thursday, September 27, 1934 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Harbert & Beatrice Compton Gowen. She died Friday, September 16, 2016 at at TJ Health/Columbia Emergency Room in Columbia, Adair County, KY at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 20 days. She was the widow of Archie Sneed who preceded her in death on May 15, 1973 & later married Donald H. Samuell who preceded her in death on January 19, 2012

She is survived by:
  • One son: Gary Sneed & his wife Geneva, of Columbia, KY

  • Two step-children: Roger Samuell of Columbia, KY, and Zack Samuell of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Shirley (Odell) Corbin of Columbia, KY; Sylvia Coomer of Columbia, KY; and Glinda Sue (Ralph) Waggener of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Amy Brockman & her husband Josh and Jordon Sneed his wife Heather

  • Three great grandchildren: Leighton Brockman, Gavin Brockman & Camden Brockman

  • Several nieces, nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and retired from Edmonton Manufacturing
