LWC Men's and Women's Cross Country open season today Lindsey Wilson Men's and Women's Cross Country open season at Mid-South Conference Preview Meet today, Saturday, 10 Sep 2016, at 5:30pmCT at Phil Moore Park 7101 Scottsville Road, Alvaton, KY 42122 - Near Bowling Green. By Matthew Wurzburger News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's cross country teams travel to Bowling Green, Ky. to begin their season at the Mid-South Conference Preview Meet on Saturday. The event will be held at Phil Moore Park, which also serves as home to the Mid-South Conference Cross Country Championship. The men's race will be an 8K, while the women will run a 5K. Six of the seven member schools of the MSC will be at the meet with Cumberlands (Ky.) not participating. Lindsey Wilson is sending four runners on the men's side and four on the women's. No. 13-ranked Shawnee State (Ohio) highlights the women's field. Shawnee State won the Mid-South Conference in 2015 and was selected as the favorite to repeat in the preseason conference poll. On the men's side 20th-ranked Shawnee State and Campbellsville headline the event. Shawnee State was picked atop the preseason conference poll, and Campbellsville is receiving votes in the national top-25 poll. Last season, the Blue Raider women's team won the MSC Preview Meet before finishing second at the conference championships. Lindsey Wilson returns an intact scoring five from 2015, including a pair of First-Team All Mid-South Conference runners in Nikki Coffey and Maria Cozzens. The MSC Freshman of the Year in 2015, Coffey finished third in the conference championship meet, which was also held at Phil Moore Park. Cozzens finished four spots behind in seventh place. The Lindsey Wilson men's team placed second at last year's conference preview meet and fourth in the conference championship. The Blue Raiders lose 2015 NAIA All-American John-Paul Williamson to graduation. Williamson won the MSC championship last season.
