LWC Women's Soccer wins top-10 matchup Blue Raider team defeats Vanguard (CA), 2-1 Next: Lindsey Wilson Women's Soccer hosts William Carey (MS) at 7pmCT on Monday, 29 August 2016, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. By Anthony Latessa COLUMBIA, KY - The second-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team defeated 10th-ranked Vaguard (CA), 2-1, on Friday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. Veronica Kurtz Martinez and Annika Koemm both chipped in a goal, while the Blue Raiders (2-0-0) outshot the Lions (0-2-0), 11-9. Lindsey Wilson had two early chances to score in the first minute but could not capitalize. Lyana Perez had an opportunity from in close, but it hit off the post. The second attempt from Emelie Liljered was sent over the crossbar. The Blue Raiders would get on the scoreboard first in the 45th minute with a goal from Kurtz-Martinez that was assisted by Carlletia Savizon. The Lions answered with a goal just after halftime to tie things up, as Danyelle Allen scored in the 51st minute. Lindsey Wilson took the lead for good in the 66th minute. Koemm found the back of the net off a feed from Ivana Damnjanovic. Koemm was just outside the 18-yard box and sent it into the top left corner of the net to beat the goalkeeper.
